FUE HAIR TRANSPLANT
FUE hair transplant surgery is much less invasive than conventional laryngeal surgery. It does not use a scalpel or staples or stitches.
FUE (follicular unit extraction) is better described as “procedure” than “surgery”. The donor area is shaved down to your skin in this method, exposing individual follicular units (FUs). When individual follicular units become apparent, we can select the most perfect FUs by eliminating them. Generally, units with the most follicles are selected for removal. This allows us to maximize the number of follicles excised per graft. With this approach, the average number of follicles per graft is substantially higher than with traditional strip harvesting and microscopic dissection.
After the follicular unit has been removed, each graft is given to the technicians to be cut in surplus tissue and brought to the perfect size for the recipient site. It is possible with the FUE technique, such as hairless FUE, that many changes are possible, in which only the follicular units to be removed are shaved and the surrounding fur remains longer. As a result, the entire transmitter region appears to be unaffected by the procedure. This method takes longer, but it has the advantage of not being totally detectable and is ideal for people who don’t want to be disturbed after surgery.
Although FUE appears to be quite specific – it is used to describe any extraction technique that does not actually contain a scalpel. Whether sharp, matte, manual or motorized, any size fist passes.
The longer the punch, the greater the likelihood of trauma to the scalp and the donor scar. Since the whole concept of FUE is to reduce the amount of visible scarring, the use of large punches can actually increase the amount of scarring in the harvest area. As a general rule, small, sharp manual staplers can produce graphics with the least possible trauma to both graft and donor sites.
Historical Development of FUE Hair Transplant
Although the development of hair transplant goes back to old times, hair transplant in the world started to be used in the present meaning in the mid-1990s. The hair transplant performed with the FUT method in the 1990s was replaced by the FUE method which was developed in the early 2000s and started to be used after 2005. Since then, it has developed continuously with minor innovations, but the basic principles of FUE have not changed. Today, it is still being used as the most advanced hair transplant technique.
FUE Hair Transplant Operation
Hair transplant is a permanent solution offered to patients experiencing hair loss. With the FUE technique, which is one of the most effective hair transplant techniques, patients get natural looking hair.
The most striking feature of the FUE technique is that the probability of leaving a trace is close to zero and shows rapid recovery. In addition, this technique is very open to development and innovation.
Advantages of FUE Hair Transplant Technique
The patient will not feel pain during the operation. You may feel a slight pressure in the eye during the operation. The operation is performed on the 2 eyes in the same session, one after the other. The surgery is completed in a very short time. The operation time is 10 – 15 minutes for both eyes. The stages of the surgery are as follows:
Painless Hair Transplant
Some patients put off their hair transplant because they are terrified of the pain they may experience. However, because to advancements in technology, painless hair transplantation is now achievable. Pain is nearly never felt during the procedure thanks to anesthesia and hair transplant. This allows for a more comfortable hair transplant procedure. This approach is especially helpful for those who are afraid of needles. As a result, the pain, which was already minimal, is reduced.
Sedation is a type of sleep in which the patient’s reflexes are preserved while sedative medicines are administered. Hair transplant with sedation is performed at the request of the patient. Hair transplant without sedation is applied to patients who do not want sedation.
Before FUE Hair Transplant
The patient contacts our advisors to begin the hair transplant procedure. In this discussion, our trained patient counselors will address all of your questions about the hair transplant procedure.
Patients are welcomed at the airport and escorted to hotels or hospitals after arriving in Turkey for hair transplantation. When a patient visits our clinic, we conduct the appropriate tests. If the patient is suitable for hair transplantation, the surgical plan is selected, and the front hairline design is created as a result of the testing. The patient, when designing the front hairline;
-Face form is one of the factors taken into account.
Things to Consider Before FUE Hair Transplant
Before getting a hair transplant, the patient should disclose all of his medical history. If he or she takes medications on a regular basis, he or she should inform the doctor.
Smoking should be interrupted before the operation. Smoking during surgery raises the chance of complications and hinders recovery. As a result, smoking should be stopped a few days before the hair transplant.
Comfortable clothing should be worn on the day of the procedure. Clothing that will not rub the rock (shirts, etc.) should be preferable, especially when wearing.
Before a hair transplant, blood thinners should be avoided.
FUE Hair Transplant Operation
Hair transplant is an operation performed in 3 stages. These stages are;
Stage 1: Harvesting Hair Follicles
Stage 2: Creating Incisions
Stage 3: Transplanting Hair Follicles
In the FUT technique, which was used before the FUE technique, the hair follicles were collected from the donor area by cutting with skin in strips. This would both cause scarring in the donor area and prolong the healing process. In FUE technique, the incision is not made while collecting hair follicles from the donor area. The grafts are collected one by one from the donor area. Thus, the donor area is less damaged and the healing process is faster.
In the FUE technique, the channels are opened using metal slits. While opening the channels with these metal slits, attention should be paid to the natural angle of the hair in that area. The hair transplanted to the channels opened according to its natural angle grows according to natural directions. Thus, hair transplant results look natural. Hair that doesn’t open according to its angle never looks natural. Channels opened at right angles cause the hair of the patient to come out straight. This causes the hair to look like a thorn.
Another issue to be considered while opening the channel is that the steel blades (metal slits) do not lose their sharpness. Metal slits, which lose their sharpness, cause more damage and decrease the success rate of hair transplant. No such problem is encountered in Esthetic Hair Turkey. New tools are constantly used in our clinic. Hair transplant is not done with steel blades that lose sharpness.
The final stage of hair transplant is the transplant of hair. At this stage, hair follicles taken from the donor area are placed one by one in the opened channels. It is necessary to be very careful at this stage. Each stage has its own special points. The experience and expertise of the team that will perform the operation is important for all these stages to be carried out successfully.
After FUE Hair Transplant
Washing After FUE Hair Transplant
The first wash after FUE hair transplant is done in the hair transplant clinic. The hair follicles that are transplanted immediately after the hair transplant can easily be broken and damaged because they cannot hold on to their new places tight enough. For this reason, a specialist should perform the first wash. After the first washing, the patient does the washing himself, provided he is very careful.
During other washes, the patient should treat the hair and scalp very carefully. The points that the patient should pay attention during washing after hair transplant;
-It should not press the scalp too much during washing.
-Washing water should not be too hot or too cold.
-Water should not be too pressurized.
-Care products and shampoo to be used must be products recommended by the doctor. If the patient wants to use another product, they should consult their doctor first.
-It should not be too hard during drying.
Shock Shedding After FUE Hair Transplant
A few weeks after the hair transplant, the phase called shock shedding starts. At this stage, the transplanted hair follicles begin to fall off. Patients who are not familiar with shock spillage make the mistake of failing the operation when they pass this stage. However, the very shedding stage is part of the hair transplant process and it is a condition seen by almost everyone who has hair transplant. New hair grows over time in place of shed hair.
